Overnight Grocery Team Member (Stocker, Inventory, Receiving) – Part Time

About the Role

The Overnight Grocery Team Member provides essential overnight support by receiving, preparing, stocking, and organizing products to maintain a clean, well-stocked store. This role plays a key part in upholding company standards, supporting team operations, and ensuring a positive experience for customers and fellow Team Members. All duties are performed in alignment with store procedures, safety guidelines, and Whole Foods Market’s core values.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality and freshness standards

  • Sort, scan, and track waste accurately

  • Stock, rotate, and merchandise shelves, displays, and back stock

  • Maintain cleanliness of shelves, bins, food prep areas, and equipment

  • Organize and manage back stock efficiently

  • Receive and process overnight deliveries, including DC and UNFI invoices

  • Check in products accurately and report missing or incorrect items

  • Move products from receiving areas to sales floor or storage locations

  • Assist with overnight deliveries for other departments as needed

  • Arrive on time, properly groomed, and prepared for scheduled shifts

  • Deliver friendly, efficient customer service when interacting with customers

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, weights and measures, and safe work practices

  • Complete opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned

  • Ensure accurate signage and pricing

  • Immediately report safety hazards or violations

  • Attend required trainings and meetings

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Willingness to learn product knowledge across the department

  • Ability to visually assess product quality and freshness

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to follow instructions, manage time, and stay organized

Experience

  • No prior retail experience required


Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Stand and walk for 6–8 hours during an 8-hour shift

  • Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling

  • Use of hands for grasping and fine manipulation

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures (freezers, coolers, and warm areas)

  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions

  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to safely use tools and equipment such as box cutters, pallet jacks, ladders, and other machinery


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage range: $18.00 – $25.40, based on experience

  • Eligible Team Members may receive Whole Benefits, which can include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off, and more

  • Entry-level Team Members may be eligible for a base pay increase after 90 days of successful employment
