About the Role
Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Computer Support Technician to provide high-quality technical support to both internal and external users. This role is responsible for maintaining client systems, managing core IT services, and supporting multiple cloud-based platforms including Microsoft Office 365, Google Cloud, Adobe Cloud, and other enterprise tools.
Key Responsibilities

Provision, configure, repair, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, end-user devices, and related peripherals

Manage user accounts and provide support for cloud-based and software applications

Troubleshoot hardware, software, system, and account-related issues

Respond to, assign, and manage internal IT help desk tickets

Provide user support via phone, remote access tools, and in person

Track and manage workload through the internal ticketing system

Perform routine maintenance and updates on PCs, Apple devices, printers, and related equipment

Maintain accurate documentation for IT procedures, policies, and workflows

Diagnose technical problems by asking targeted questions and determining the appropriate level of support

Back up computer data regularly to prevent data loss

Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training when needed
Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree or higher in an IT-related field
-
Microsoft, Google, CompTIA, or other relevant IT certifications
-
4+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 2 years in client or end-user support

Broad experience with enterprise IT systems and core services

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to explain technical concepts in clear, non-technical language

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

Proven problem-solving ability and relationship-management skills

Adaptability in fast-changing technical environments
