A leading technology company, Leidos, is looking for a Computer Operator to support the IT Service Desk program for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
This role focuses on delivering remote technical support and assisting users with various IT issues through phone, email, chat, and ticketing systems. The Service Desk acts as the primary point of contact for resolving IT incidents and service requests.
Key Responsibilities

Provide remote technical support to users via phone, email, chat, and other communication channels.

Troubleshoot basic computer, software, and network issues.

Document incidents and solutions accurately within the ticketing system.

Resolve customer issues during the first contact whenever possible.

Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level IT support teams.

Maintain and update internal knowledge base articles.

Ensure service requests and incidents are handled within defined timelines.

Maintain professional communication with users and internal teams.

Assist with additional Service Desk responsibilities as required.
Work Schedule
This position supports a 24/7 IT support operation, so candidates must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Basic Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent qualification

Typing speed of at least 35 WPM

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Candidates must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems

1–2 years of experience in PC troubleshooting and technical support

Knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and Microsoft Office applications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field

Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, ITIL v4, or Microsoft Fundamentals
Salary
Estimated hourly pay ranges from $17 – $20 per hour, depending on experience and location.
